Iran War Rhetoric: “Air Operations” Against Israel Possible

A member of Iran’s National Security Committee, Ahmad Bakhshaesh Ardestani, has hinted at potential ”air operations“ against Israel, suggesting they could last between three and four days. He made this statement in an interview with Iran Watch.
Ardestani emphasized that Iran is prepared for the consequences of such an attack and any subsequent developments. He claimed that Iran’s response would be “unexpected” and could potentially last the same amount of time as the potential operation.
The escalation comes after the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, leading Ardestani to vow revenge. He stated that Iran’s response to this “crime” will be “final” and inevitable.
The Iranian parliamentarian also suggested that delaying retaliation benefits Israel, as it thrives in a state of uncertainty. He described this tactic as part of Iran’s “process of revenge.”
While Ardestani hinted at an imminent response, he emphasized that the timing would be “appropriate” and “unexpected.” He added that a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas is the only scenario that would prevent retaliation.
However, he cast doubt on the possibility of such an agreement, suggesting that Iran will not overlook the blood shed following Haniyeh’s assassination.
