Russian troops are trying to protect the Crimean bridge from a possible attack from the air or from the sea, since the main supply chains of both the Russian Defense Ministry and the Crimean peninsula go through it. The guerrillas of the ATESH group conducted reconnaissance in the area of the bridge and indicated what means the Russian Armed Forces are trying to protect it with.
The partisans conducted reconnaissance near the Kerch bridge on the Crimean peninsula. The Russian armed forces are trying to urgently erect fortifications near the overpass, installing air defense systems and barges. All this is being done on the assumption that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have maximally intensified their actions on the front.
According to ATESH, barges have begun to be installed in two rows along the bridge, and work is actively underway along the entire perimeter to drive piles for the construction of a new barrier. All these measures are aimed at protecting the bridge from possible attacks by unmanned boats. In recent days, additional air defense systems have been deployed to the bridge and mobile air defense posts have been created.
In addition, the Russians have begun building a backup bridge, which should replace the crossing to the peninsula in the event of an attack and the severe consequences of it. The Russians are doing all this in parallel with strengthening the supports and guarding. In June, the Institute for the Study of War stated that if the Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes destroy the Crimean bridge, Russia’s ability to maintain the occupation of the peninsula will be significantly reduced.
Recall that recently the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, stated that Ukraine has plans to destroy the Crimean bridge by the end of the year. However, he did not reveal any more specific plans.
Earlier, “Kursor” reported that Ukraine was also able to push the Russian fleet out of the peninsula, especially quickly after the death of the submarine “Rostov-on-Don”.
