Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with PA leader Mahmoud Abbas, stressed the importance of creating a full-fledged Palestinian state to achieve stable peace in the Middle East.

He noted that, despite the current military actions on Russian territory, Moscow continues to closely monitor the situation in the Gaza Strip, where, as Putin stated, “the tragedy of the Palestinian people” has unfolded.

Putin expressed concern about the humanitarian catastrophe in the region, citing data that he claimed came from the UN, although in reality it belonged to Hamas. The Russian president stressed that, according to this information, about 40,000 civilians have already become “victims of the conflict”, a significant number of whom are women and children.

Mahmoud Abbas, in turn, expressed gratitude to the Russian authorities for their support of the Palestinian people and stressed that Russia remains one of the closest and most reliable friends of the PA.

Earlier, “Cursor” reported that Abbas was greeted with music in Moscow.

The PA Chairman flew to the Russian capital at Putin’s official invitation.

PA President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Moscow yesterday, Russia’s deputy foreign minister confirmed. Videos have appeared online showing Abbas being ceremoniously greeted at the capital’s airport.

This visit is being carried out at the official invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
