The Russian Baltic Fleet went out to sea and trained to deliver nuclear strikes against European countries. In total, Russia has identified 32 potential targets for the Russian fleet in Europe. The Russian army calls weakening the military and economic potential of the enemy the main priority in the event of a war with NATO. This is reported by the Financial Times.

The media has obtained secret documents that contain a list of targets for Russian missiles with conventional and nuclear warheads. On the maps, the Russians indicate dozens of targets for the Baltic fleet, mainly in Norway and Germany. In particular, the Russian Federation trained to “attack” the naval base in Bergen (Norway), radar stations and special forces facilities.

The Russians also prepared to launch a nuclear strike on UK defence industry facilities, in particular the town of Barrow-in-Furness, where warships and submarines are built.

According to former NATO official William Alberca, the released maps showed only dozens of targets across Europe, but in reality Russia could be targeting hundreds or even thousands of sites.

The Russian Federation points to the ability of Russian ships to carry nuclear weapons, as well as the high maneuverability of the fleet, which allows for sudden and massive strikes in various directions. Analysts cited by the FT believe that Russia’s strategy involves striking civilian targets and critical infrastructure.

Moreover, the Russian military mentioned the option of a so-called “demonstration strike” to intimidate Western countries. Journalists emphasized that the Russian Federation prepared these documents between 2008 and 2014. Moreover, Western officials and analysts who studied the documents said that the data corresponds to NATO’s assessment of the threat of strikes from the Russian fleet.
