A Russian Ka-52 helicopter was shot down in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation several days ago – according to media reports, this happened during the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive on August 10. The helicopter was ambushed by a Ukrainian Stinger MANPADS. This was reported on the X (Twitter) page of OSINTtechnical.

The helicopter was shot down with a MANPADS practically right before landing, since the Ka-52 was ambushed by Ukrainian soldiers. Russian war correspondents were the first to report the loss of the helicopter.

The Ukrainian Airborne Assault Troops published a video showing the first hours of the Ukrainian army’s operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. The footage showed “demining, breaking through the border, destroying the enemy’s defensive lines, the work of aviation, artillery, prisoners.” Among other footage, the work of Ukrainian artillery was also shown, including on “Stingers.”

Already on August 16, the first confirmation of the destruction of the Russian Ka-52 helicopter appeared.

Ukraine increases weapons production

It is worth noting that the Stinger MANPADS were transferred to the Ukrainian army from the United States, but in more than two years of full-scale war, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has established production of its own weapons. They have been particularly successful in developing sea drones, as well as unmanned systems (a new unit, the Unmanned Systems Forces, has recently appeared in the Ukrainian Armed Forces).

Thus, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky showed Ukrainian naval drones, armored vehicles, missiles, long-range drones, and artillery.

“At sea: Neptune, Sea Baby, MAGURA V5. On land: Bogdana, Stugna, Korsar. In the air: Bober, Morok, Lyuty,” he noted.

Zelensky added that Ukrainian developments cleanse the Black Sea, strengthen the state and destroy Russian potential.

The head of state also showed footage of the use of Ukrainian weapons – the destruction of enemy equipment, air defense, strikes on enemy targets. In particular, the published video shows attacks on Russian factories and oil refineries, the destruction of enemy ships, and the sinking of the cruiser “Moskva” in the Black Sea.

Earlier, “Kursor” reported that in the area of Korenevo in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a column of Russian troops, but so far no photos or videos of the incident have been published.
