In his address, Washington leader Joe Biden relied on updated information on the agreement from his negotiating team in Doha, Qatar. This was reported on the White House website.

Biden received new information from the negotiating team and, in response, instructed them to put forward a comprehensive interim proposal that would provide a basis for reaching a final agreement on a cease-fire and the release of hostages.

The US President also said that he had spoken separately with Qatari Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President Sissi (Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi). During the conversation, they discussed the progress made in Doha over the past two days of negotiations. Both leaders expressed support for the US proposal to mediate in this process.

He also said that negotiating teams would remain on the ground to continue technical work over the coming days, and that senior officials would meet again in Cairo before the end of the week and report to him regularly on the progress of the agreements.

“I am sending Secretary Blinken to Israel to reaffirm my ironclad support for Israel’s security, to continue our intensive efforts to secure this agreement, and to emphasize that now that a comprehensive ceasefire and hostage release agreement is on the horizon, no one in the region should take action to undermine that process,” Biden added.

Earlier, Cursor reported that good results had been achieved in peace talks in Doha over the past 48 hours – an unnamed American source called these two days “the most productive in the past six months.”
