Qatari Prime Minister Mohammad Al-Thani held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Bakri Khani following talks in Doha.

According to the Iranian news agency MEHR, the Iranian minister expressed confidence that Israel will not fulfill its obligations under the current negotiations.

Ali Bakri Hani stressed the need to use all possible means to force Israel to stop its actions in Gaza, telling the media that he considers this a critical step.

For his part, Al-Thani said that Qatar confirms its readiness to support efforts to ensure security and stability in the region.

Earlier, Cursor reported on a statement by senior Hamas member Osama Hamdan, who expressed his opinion on the ceasefire proposal put forward by US President Joe Biden. Hamdan called the proposal positive and noted that it was being studied, although Hamas has not yet received a written version.

Hamdan added that the general provisions voiced by Qatar, Egypt and the US look favorable, but the final decision will be made after a detailed review of the plan. He also stressed that Hamas is considering any proposals that include a ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza, the reconstruction of the Strip and a fair exchange of prisoners.

Another Hamas source confirmed in an interview with the Saudi Arabian Al-Hadath channel that the organization is ready to positively consider proposals that will lead to a ceasefire and the withdrawal of IDF troops from Gaza. However, he also noted that Hamas does not intend to disarm and cease armed resistance as long as Israel exists. He stressed that the presence of Egyptian forces at the Rafah crossing remains categorically unacceptable to the organization.
