Foreign Minister Israel Katz has pointed to a connection between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Hamas in a new post on the X website, implying that the Turkish leader is involved in the terrorist organization’s finances.

“This week, Erdogan has been in a conflict,” Katz wrote. “It was over Ismail Haniyeh’s sons, who came to him to demand $3 billion in bank accounts in Turkey in their father’s name, and Erdogan refused to give them the money. How did Haniyeh, who was born in the Shatti refugee camp, amass such a huge fortune? How many Palestinians in Gaza could live in abundance if the money came to them? And most importantly: what does Erdogan have to do with money? “Follow the money” is a well-known phrase. In this case, the address is clear.”

Let us recall that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the liquidation of Hamas Politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

“I strongly condemn and curse the treacherous assassination committed in Tehran against Hamas Politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh,” Erdogan said in X.

It was a “dastardly attempt to undermine the Palestinian cause, the glorious resistance of Gaza and the legitimate struggle of our Palestinian brothers, aimed at demoralizing, intimidating and suppressing them,” he added.

Erdogan stressed that the killing echoed previous attacks on Palestinian figures such as Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and Abdul Aziz al-Rantisi, and said that “Zionist barbarity will not achieve its goals again.”

He called on the Islamic world to take a united stand to end the war in Gaza and reiterated Turkey’s commitment to supporting the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Earlier, Cursor wrote that Erdogan made a promise to Abbas directed against Israel.
