On Monday, August 26, a powerful explosion was heard at an oil refinery in the Russian city of Omsk. At least two people, employees of the plant, were injured in the incident. In addition, a powerful fire started as a result of the explosion.

The governor of the Omsk region, Vitaly Khotsenko, reported this.

Information about the explosion and fire at the enterprise was received at 14:45 local time. As reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Omsk Region, rescuers left for the scene of the fire.

“Russian Emergencies Ministry units left for the fire on Gubkin Street with 7 units of equipment and 27 personnel. The preliminary area of ​​the fire was 1,000 square meters. The information is being clarified,” the rescuers explained.

As a result of the explosion, a fire occurred at the AVT-11 installation. Eyewitnesses say that the explosion was heard in several areas of the city.

The regional governor reported that the situation is “under control”. It is noted that 2 people were injured as a result of the explosion. These are plant workers. They have burns. According to official data, the fire is now under control, services are localizing the fire.

It is worth noting that the Ukrainian side did not comment on these events. Also, Russia does not talk about the cause of the explosion and fire at the refinery.

The area of ​​the fire after the powerful explosion is 1000 square meters; the technological equipment at the plant caught fire.

Earlier, “Kursor” reported that Ukrainian weapons hit a ferry in the port of “Kavkaz” in the Rostov region. This was the last ferry transporting fuel to the Crimean peninsula. After the strike, the ferry sank, and the peninsula is threatened with a shortage of gasoline at gas stations.
