Mariam Majdalion al-Lahham, a Lebanese journalist with MTV Lebanon, compared Hezbollah to ISIS and called the group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah “an internationally protected terrorist.” She called on Hezbollah members to act within the Lebanese parliament and warned Gazans not to rely on Hezbollah or other Iranian forces in the region.
Thus, in a sharp interview on Thursday with one of the Arab platforms, al-Lahham launched a furious attack on Hezbollah and its leader Hassan Nasrallah. “Hezbollah is an armed terrorist organization, cut off from the state. There is no difference between them and ISIS,” she said.
When asked why she called Hezbollah a terrorist organization, the journalist responded sharply: “What is the difference between them and ISIS? It is an armed terrorist organization, divorced from the state.”
“If you in Hezbollah are not ISIS members and terrorists, then come and declare war from inside the Lebanese parliament. Make decisions about war and peace in parliament,” she demanded, adding: “Your leader should not come and tell me that our decisions about war and peace are in the hands of the Supreme Leader of Iran.”
Al-Lahham did not hold back in her criticism of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, whom she called “an internationally protected terrorist.” She compared him to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the former leader of ISIS in Iraq who was killed by US forces.
At the end of the interview, al-Lahham addressed the people of Gaza, urging them not to trust Hezbollah and other Iranian forces in the region: “You only have Allah. As we have said, only Allah.”
