Pentagon spokesman U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said the U.S. has not yet determined that Israel violated international humanitarian law, despite speculation sparked by Britain’s decision to suspend arms exports to Israel. Ryder said during a briefing Tuesday that assessments were ongoing and the results had yet to be announced.

General Ryder also reported on recent talks between US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant. During the conversation, Austin expressed condolences over the deaths of six hostages killed by the Hamas terrorist group and stressed the need to hold the leaders of this terrorist organization accountable.

The briefing also discussed the possible threat from Iran. Ryder confirmed that the US takes Iranian threats seriously, but did not go into detail about possible Iranian retaliation against Israel.

In addition, the strategic importance of the Philadelphia Corridor and its role in preventing future terrorist attacks was touched upon, but Ryder declined to give a tactical assessment of the actions of the Israeli army, leaving this to the discretion of the Israeli authorities.

Earlier, “Cursor” wrote that changes were made to the rules for storing weapons for Israelis.
