Donald Trump has spoken for the first time about how his family survived the assassination attempt that occurred on July 13 during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

In an interview with Fox News, recorded at his Florida estate, Trump shared the reaction of his loved ones to the incident.

According to him, his wife Melania Trump was watching the event live on TV at the time of the assassination attempt. Trump said that Melania did not immediately realize what was happening when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on him.

“She actually saw it live, can you believe it? She still can’t talk about it,” Trump shared, calling the attacker a “monster.”

At the time, their son, 18-year-old Barron Trump, was playing tennis. Trump added that someone ran up to Barron on the court with the news: “Barron! Your father has been shot!” Despite the shock, the family was able to cope with the experience.

Barron Trump, the only child of Donald and Melania, usually leads a private life. But his father has recently been keen for his son to become more involved in public life. In May, Barron was nominated as a Republican delegate to the party’s national convention, but was unable to attend. But in July, he made his first appearance at a Trump campaign event, where he was seen smiling and raising his fist in support.

Earlier, Cursor reported that the FBI released new information about the assassination attempt on Trump.
