Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani has denied reports that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces were targeted by the IDF on the night of September 9, IRNA reported.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Kanaani said the news about strikes on the Masaif base in Syria is a lie.

“We do not confirm the claim of some Zionist media about an attack on an Iranian-affiliated center in Syria,” an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

Earlier, “Cursor” reported that on the night of September 9, Israel struck targets in Syria. The media reported that the strikes were carried out on a certain center associated with the IRGC. Later it became known that the IDF struck the outskirts of the city of Masyaf and hit a chemical weapons production center.

In response to the attack, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said that Israel’s overnight strikes on Hama could escalate tensions in the region with unpredictable consequences. The ministry noted that Israel’s actions were a provocation that could destabilize the situation in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the attack on the research center in Syria has already reached 22 people – among them four dead from the Syrian army, the rest – activists who worked with Iran. It has not yet been possible to determine whether they are members of the Syrian Hezbollah. Several dozen more people were injured – their exact number is still unknown.
