Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky outlined the targets that Ukraine will strike after receiving permission to use Western weapons on the territory of the Russian Federation. He stated this in an interview with CNN.
Syrsky noted that Ukraine will use weapons exclusively against military facilities of the Russian Federation, primarily against missile systems. Since it is from these systems that Ukrainian settlements and civilian facilities of Ukraine are attacked daily.
“You know how many schools and hospitals were destroyed in Ukraine, including the famous hospital “Okhmatdet”. It was practically destroyed in the center of Kyiv as a result of a strike by Russian cruise missiles. Such incidents happen every day. Not only adults, but also children are dying. The latest strikes on Poltava, Kharkov, Sumy – there is not a single city in Ukraine that has not felt these losses,” Syrsky said in an interview with CNN.
According to him, the main purpose of using Western long-range weapons is to combat the enemy’s missile systems. Strikes at warehouses and bases where weapons and fuel for the Russian army are stored should lead to the necessary results and a kind of “breakthrough” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In addition, Russian airfields from which Russian aviation and the Aerospace Forces use missiles and guided bombs to strike schools and populated areas will come under attack.
“These are our goals,” explained the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
At the same time, Syrsky emphasized that Ukrainian soldiers are fighting the Russian army, not civilians. Therefore, civilian objects of the Russian Federation are not in danger.
