According to sources, Indian authorities are continuing to work on dismissing another 50 Indians from the Russian army. In July, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Moscow, Russia promised to dismiss all Indian citizens who may have been mistakenly conscripted and then forced to participate in military operations against Ukraine.
Earlier, the Indian federal police arrested four suspects in human trafficking. They lured young people to Russia under the guise of offering them lucrative jobs or education, but in reality they planned to force them to participate in military operations against Ukraine.
In addition, it became known that Indian oil refineries are planning to increase the volume of oil supplies from the US in response to the tightening of sanctions against Russia – this fact became the reason for the search for alternative sources of supply. However, three tankers with Russian oil were recorded in Indian ports, which indicates the continuation of India’s trade with the Russian Federation, despite US sanctions.
The new US sanctions are expected to reduce Russian oil supplies to India, making it difficult for Indian state refiners to secure long-term contracts. Incidentally, Russia has already suffered losses of about $40 billion from oil sales to India, and it is virtually impossible to withdraw these funds from the Indian financial system.
