In the eastern German city of Fürstenwalde (Brandenburg), an Islamic center called Al-Salam was discovered that has ties to the terrorist groups Muslim Brotherhood and the terrorist organization Hamas.

This was reported by “BILD”.

The regional authorities, led by Interior Minister Michael Stübgen, announced a ban on the centre. The operation included searches in the centre itself, as well as in private apartments in Brandenburg and Berlin.

The decision to close the Islamic center was part of a broader effort to combat terrorism and prevent the financing of terrorist organizations.

Earlier, “Cursor” reported that an Islamist attacked a police station in Germany.

In the German city of Linz am Rhein, a 29-year-old Albanian citizen attacked a police station, armed with a machete and shouting “Allahu Akbar.” According to the Koblenz prosecutor’s office, the man declared his intention to kill the police officers. The police officers quickly locked the entrance doors, trapping the attacker. He tried to kick them down, but to no avail. Special forces, alerted, neutralized the attacker with a taser.

During a search of his home, investigators found symbols of the terrorist organization “Islamic State” on the wall, which increased suspicions of a radical Islamist motive for the attack. The man is under arrest, and investigations are ongoing.

The incident comes amid a series of attacks by Islamists in Germany in recent years. The most tragic was the 2016 attack on a Christmas market in Berlin, in which 12 people were killed. There have also been several recent attacks, including a stabbing at a festival and an attack outside the Israeli consulate in Munich, in which the assailant was shot dead by police.
