On Monday morning, September 16, explosions occurred in Belgorod, Russia, followed by fires, Russian media reported.

According to information from the Baza Telegram channel, after the missile strike and the operation of air defense systems, numerous fires broke out in the city. Private houses and cars are burning.

Local sources confirm that both multi-story and private residential buildings are on fire. It is also reported that cars have been damaged. Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov confirmed information about fires in residential buildings and burning cars.

As usual, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are being blamed for what happened, but there have been no official statements from the Ukrainian authorities or military yet.

In one of the videos, a local resident can be seen trying to escape the shelling of the city in his car. However, explosions thunder a few meters away.

Earlier, “Kursor” reported that the Russians are panicking over the permission for long-range strikes for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The panic is growing against the backdrop of information that the United States may soon allow Ukraine to use longer-range missiles to strike Russian targets. In this way, the West will respond to the fact that Russia has begun to receive Iranian ballistic missiles.

Residents of the border regions of the Russian Federation are already expressing concern about the possible consequences. First of all, this will be felt by residents of the city of Orel, where the war has not come since 1941. Now, if Ukraine is given new weapons, military actions may again approach the city’s borders.
