Spanish General Haroldo Lazaro Saenz, who heads the UN mission and is the commander of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), gave an interview where he answered a number of questions related to the presence of Hezbollah weapons in the area under the control of his 10,000-strong contingent.

This was reported by the Telegram channel “Alexey Zheleznov”.

In an interview with KAN TV, when asked about the origin of Hezbollah rockets in the area, the general admitted that they were shocked when they discovered that the rockets were stored in the homes of Lebanese civilians.

He stressed that this is extremely dangerous for the civilian population. Lazaro Saenz also noted that they have not received any information about the presence of weapons in their area of responsibility, despite UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which requires UNIFIL to be notified of any movement of weapons or ammunition.

In addition, the general explained that most of the missiles were placed at a significant distance from UNIFIL observation posts, making them difficult to detect.

Earlier, Cursor reported that the UN had issued an appeal.

The UN is seeking a solution to the conflict in southern Lebanon, as further escalation could lead to a global war.

“Cursor” also wrote about whether Hezbollah will go to a full-scale war with Israel.
