Today, September 24, US President Joe Biden raised smiles at a UN meeting by making a joke about his age.
He noted that this is the fourth time he has addressed this assembly as President and added:
“This will be my last… I have witnessed a remarkable turn of history… I was first elected senator in 1972, and I know that I look only 40 years old.”

Speaking about the war in Ukraine, Biden called on UN member states to comply with the organization’s charter and not stand aside. He said it was necessary to support Ukraine because “Putin is losing the war because Ukraine remains free.” He also stressed that Russia has tried to weaken NATO, but the alliance has become more united than ever.
Biden expressed confidence that countries must continue to support Ukraine to ensure its freedom. He emphasized:
“We cannot close our eyes and weaken our support for Ukraine. Everything possible must be done to ensure that it achieves sustainable peace in accordance with the UN Charter.”
This is not the first time Biden has made such a statement. In March, he already noted that his age has brought wisdom, adding that he looks no older than forty. The president also took the opportunity to criticize his main rival in the election, Donald Trump, calling his views outdated.
The 81-year-old Biden, who represents the Democratic Party, is seeking re-election, becoming the oldest president in US history. Debate about his aging prospects is intensifying among both Republicans and Democrats, with some in his party publicly calling on him to withdraw from the next campaign.
Earlier, Kursor reported that during a joint press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Joe Biden again found himself in an awkward situation.
