Reuters reported new details about the powerful strike on Beirut, citing its sources in the intelligence services.
The IDF attack in the Dahiya area killed at least one person, according to two security sources.
The Lebanese al-Mayadeen network, linked to Hezbollah, confirmed the reports, adding that several people were injured.
Let us recall that according to media reports, an IDF aircraft carried out a targeted attack on a residential building in the Dahiya area, a southern suburb of Beirut. The strike damaged the top three floors of a six-story building in the Al-Jabiri area.
The media write that the target of the liquidation in Dahiya was Abu Javad Harihi, the head of Hezbollah’s missile division.
According to the Lebanese channel Al-Jadid, as a result of the attack in Daahia, 5 people were killed, another 11 were injured, 2 of them in serious condition. The Saudi channel Al-Hadat reports that the fate of the target of the attack remains unknown.
Earlier, Cursor reported that Hezbollah will not be given a break, IDF attacks will double. The army announced this.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said Hezbollah will not be given a chance to rest and Israel intends to step up military action against the group in Lebanon.
During his morning analysis of the situation, Halevi noted that Israel will continue to increase its offensive operations while strengthening its defensive lines. According to him, the current situation requires constant activity in all directions, including Lebanon and other conflict zones. Israel plans to intensify efforts to neutralize the threat from Hezbollah and minimize the risk of further escalation.
After the Cabinet meeting, it became clear that Israel has so far avoided starting a full-scale war with Hezbollah, despite recent massive airstrikes on the infrastructure and militants of this Lebanese group. Final decisions will be made after Netanyahu returns from the United States, where he will take part in the UN General Assembly summit. Thus, Hezbollah has several days to decide on its further actions – either capitulate or prepare for new powerful strikes by the IDF.
Meanwhile, the US believes Israeli strikes over the past week have significantly weakened Hezbollah. However, US officials are continuing diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation. Washington’s main fear is that a possible Israeli ground invasion of Lebanon could trigger a large-scale regional conflict affecting the entire Middle East.
