During ground operations in southern Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) discovered Russian weapons in tunnels used by the Hezbollah terrorist group.
In particular, among the finds were MRO-A infantry rocket flamethrowers and Konkurs anti-tank missile systems (ATGM).
What kind of weapon is this?
MRO-A infantry rocket flamethrowers are designed to fire at enemy groups and have high mobility. These devices allow firing from cover, providing protection for operators. They can be used to create fire barriers and destroy enemy personnel, making them an effective weapon in combat conditions.
The Konkurs ATGM, in turn, is one of the most common anti-tank systems, capable of hitting armored vehicles at a range of up to 4 kilometers. It is characterized by high accuracy and a powerful warhead, which makes it a formidable weapon against any armored vehicle.
The discovery of these weapons highlights the connection between Iran and Hezbollah, and also points to Tehran’s continued support for arming groups operating in the region.
Previously, Kursor reported how the Russian Federation is helping the Yemeni Houthis in the fight against Israel.
In addition, Russia recently expressed “categorical condemnation” in connection with the launch of a limited Israeli ground operation in Lebanon. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced multiple civilian casualties and also expressed solidarity with Lebanon, which, according to Russian diplomats, is suffering from Israeli aggression.
