jpnn.comJAKARTA – President of World Physiotherapy, Michel Landry predicts the need for physiotherapists will reach 2.2 million per year.

In addition, every year there are around 10 million physiotherapy graduates who must continue their education to specialize.

“To develop physiotherapy, it must start from developing education,” said Landry, Saturday (28/9).

He said that the 2024 AWP Congress or Asian Western Pacific in Denpasar, Bali, was an important momentum for physiotherapy in Indonesia. Apart from strengthening collaboration, this activity is also aimed at increasing competence in facing global health challenges.

“Physiotherapy is part of a world health profession that continues to develop with science and technology,” he said.

Likewise, the General Chairperson of the Central Management of the Indonesian Physiotherapy Association (IFI), Parmono Dwi Putro, emphasized that this congress was a concrete manifestation of the role of physiotherapy in improving public health.

This congress also serves as an opportunity to introduce Indonesian physiotherapy to the eyes of the world.

“We are introducing Indonesian physiotherapy to the international arena, that we are the same health workers, and this is the time to collaborate,” said Parmono.
