The first day of 2024 began with news of a 7.6 magnitude earthquake in Japan in Richter scalewith the country’s authorities issuing a warning for a likely tsunami that could hit the country in the coming hours.

The earthquake was recorded by the Japan Meteorological Agency about 42 kilometers northeast of Anamizu, in Ishikawa Prefecture, triggering several aftershocks. The magnitude of the tremor even led the United States Geological Survey to issue a statement.

Japanese authorities admitted that tsunami waves were detected in several areas. A tsunami warning has not been issued by the country’s government since 2011, when the accident at the Fukushima nuclear plant occurred following an earthquake.

Because of this, an alert for residents of Japan’s coastal areas was issued, advising them to seek shelter in high regions. Waves of up to five meters are expected to hit the beaches in the next few hours.

According to information from the portal Uol, this was the largest earthquake in the region since 1985, and at least 36,000 homes were left without electricity in Ishikawa and Toyama, in addition to damage to streets and roads. New tremors are not ruled out.

With the news about the incident, pastor Renato Vargens used social media to remember that all these events mark the fulfillment of the words of Jesus Christ, and indicate that his return is getting closer:

“2024 begins with an earthquake and tsunami in Japan, preparations for war in North Korea, multiplication of sin due to the scorn of 12/31, cooling of love around the world. The good news is that this was predicted by Jesus, who told us that things like this would point to his coming. Yes! Soon the Son of Man will return,” published the pastor and writer.
