Paris – Moroccan Rajae Akermach won the bronze medal in the over 65 kg category (K44 category) of the para-taekwondo competitions on Saturday, as part of the Paris-2024 Paralympic Games.

The Moroccan para-taekwondo athlete won bronze by beating Brazilian Debora Menezes in the second repechage bout with a score of 24 to 15.

Akermach lost in the quarter-finals to Britain’s Amy Truesdale 30-9.

In a statement to MAP, Akermach said she was happy to have won this medal, the second collected by Moroccan para-taekwondo athletes in Paris after that of Ayoub Adouich.

She noted that this feat is the result of long-term work and intense training, expressing the hope of doing better in future meetings.
