The Preparatory Committee for the High-Level Meeting on the Responsible Military Use of Artificial Intelligence (REAIM) is hosting a calligraphy contest. This event is intended to increase public interest and understanding of the 2024 REAIM High-Level Meeting scheduled to be held in September.
REAIM (Responsible AI in the Military domain) is a conference where various entities including government, business, academia, and civil society participate to seek cooperation on responsible military development, deployment, and use of AI. Our government will hold the first conference in The Hague in 2023 in cooperation with the Netherlands, and the second conference will be held in Seoul on September 9.
This calligraphy contest will be held from the 21st of this month to the 6th of next month, and both Korean citizens and foreigners can participate. The winning works will be used as official promotional materials for the REAIM High-Level Meeting to convey the message of responsible military use of AI.
An official from the preparatory committee said, “We expect that through this contest, we will be able to increase public interest in the responsible military use of artificial intelligence and the international community’s cooperative efforts for a safer future, and to publicize the significance of the REAIM high-level meeting.”
