jpnn.comBATAM – As many as 419 of the 939 inmates (WBP) at Batam Class IIA Prison are on the temporary voter list (DPS) for the 2024 regional head elections.

Head of Class IIA Batam Prison, Heri Kusrita, said that his party continues to coordinate regarding preparations for the 2024 Pilkada in the prison.

“Temporary data registered with the KPU currently shows 419 people, but it has not been updated,” said Heri when contacted, Saturday.

According to him, this temporary data is still changing, before the KPU determines the permanent voter data (DPT).

This change occurred because in Batam Prison there was a transfer of WBP to Tanjungpinang Prison and the acceptance of new WBP from the detention center.

“We are proposing 52 WBPs domiciled in the Riau Islands, new transfers from detention centers,” he said.

In addition, he said, there was an additional number of voters from Batam Prison, especially for employees on duty when voting took place.

“There are around 25 additional people on duty on D-day. This is still in the proposal process, the latest data update from the KPU is not yet available,” he said.

The 2024 Batam City Pilkada will be contested by two pairs of candidates for mayor and deputy mayor.
