The Southwestern University Men’s Soccer team is entering the Southern Athletic Association Conference, and the **opportunity to host the conference tournament on November 6-8** presents a valuable advantage.

Southwestern and Trinity University are the newest additions to the SAA, joining Berry College, Oglethorpe University, Sewanee, Centre College, Millsaps College, and Rhodes College. The Pirates aim to build upon their recent success, having achieved two consecutive double-digit win seasons, including an 11-3-4 regular season in 2024. Although they were eliminated in the semi-finals during their final year in the SCAC, the team is optimistic about their prospects in the SAA.

Norman’s Reign Continues

Head Coach Dustin Norman is back for his eighth season. His current coaching record stands at 65-28-22 (.661), making him the coach with the highest winning percentage in program history. Can he continue his winning ways in the new conference?

Home Field Advantage

Pirates fans will have ample opportunities to cheer on their team in 2025, with ten home non-conference matches on the schedule. The season kicks off under the lights against Howard Payne University on Aug. 23. Following the opener, Southwestern hosts a series of home games against the University of St. Thomas (Aug. 29), Claremont-Mudd-Sipps Colleges (Aug. 31), Kalamazoo College (Sep. 5), Schreiner University (Sep. 7), Concordia University Texas (Sep. 12), Texas Lutheran University (Sep. 14), Austin College (Sep. 20), East Texas Baptist University (Sep. 25), and University of California Santa-Cruz (Sep. 28). Adding to the home slate is a non-conference match against the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor (Oct. 15), strategically placed amidst the SAA schedule. A single non-conference road game at LeTourneau University (Sep. 18) in Longview, Texas, rounds out the pre-conference schedule.

The schedule transitions into a seven-game SAA lineup, featuring three home matches and four away games. The Pirates will embark on a road trip to face Berry College (Oct. 3) in Mount Berry, Georgia, followed by a match against Oglethorpe University (Oct. 5) in Atlanta.
