FOSCA Launches 2026 Shelter Alumni Calendar to Support Animal Welfare Programs
A new calendar featuring heartwarming stories and photos of adopted pets is now available, with all proceeds benefiting the Friends of Shelter and Companion Animals (FOSCA) and its vital programs for animals in need.
The annual Shelter Alumni Calendar for 2026 is now on sale for $20 at various locations throughout the Los Alamos area. According to a recent release, the calendar showcases the bond between pets and their owners, featuring submissions from individuals who have welcomed shelter animals – and those who were once abandoned or homeless – into their homes.
These attractive, spiral-bound calendars offer 52 weeks of heartwarming imagery and serve as a thoughtful holiday gift for animal lovers. Sales will directly support FOSCA’s ongoing efforts to improve the lives of vulnerable animals.
FOSCA will begin in-person sales on Small Business Saturday, November 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pet Pangaea. Additional sales events are scheduled for Saturday, December 6, at the YMCA Winter Vendor Fair, and Saturday, December 13, at the Los Alamos Coop Market. The calendars will also be available at Ridgeview Veterinary Hospital and Pet Pangaea during regular business hours.
For over 25 years, FOSCA has been a cornerstone of animal welfare in Los Alamos, working to enhance the quality of life for homeless pets and provide support to pet owners and local rescue organizations. The organization maintains close relationships with area veterinarians and independent rescues and humane societies.
FOSCA’s work is built around three core programs: a financial assistance program for low-income pet owners facing medical expenses, a program providing access to low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for both pet owners and rescue partners statewide, and an educational initiative promoting responsible pet ownership.
The organization emphasizes the importance of preventative care, operating a Catastrophic Illness/Injury program that offers funds for veterinary treatment when owners are unable to afford it. Furthermore, FOSCA distributes vouchers for free spay/neuter procedures, aiming to reduce the number of unwanted litters and alleviate the strain on local shelters.
FOSCA extends its gratitude to its participating veterinary clinics – Ridgeview Veterinary Hospital, Cottonwood Veterinary Clinic, Arroyo Seco Animal Hospital, and the Santa Fe Animal Shelter Spay/Neuter Clinic – for their continued partnership in these crucial efforts. The organization’s year-round commitment ensures that both pets and their owners receive the support they need to thrive.
