21 ‛Approval for establishment of Greenfield Airports | Approval to set up 21 greenfield airports

New Delhi: The central government has informed the Rajya Sabha that the central government has given in-principle approval for setting up 21 ‘greenfield’ airports in the country.

In this regard, Tamil Nadu Government has applied to the Ministry of Civil Aviation for granting “site permission” to set up the airport located at Panthur in Kanchipuram district as a greenfield airport.

The application is under review by the Airports Authority of India, the Directorate of Civil Aviation and the Union Ministry of Defence.
