Patna: The rain in almost all the districts of Bihar has brought relief to the people from the heat. However, people are also dying due to lightning. During the last 24 hours, 21 people have died due to lightning in the state. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered the officials to give an ex-gratia of Rs. four lakh each to the dependents of the deceased. According to the Disaster Management Department, six people have died in Madhubani district due to lightning in the last 24 hours. While, four people have died in Aurangabad and two in Patna.

Lightning struck in many districts

Apart from this, one person each died due to lightning in Rohtas, Bhojpur, Jehanabad, Saran, Kaimur, Gopalganj, Lakhisarai, Madhepura and Supaul. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed deep condolences on these incidents. The Chief Minister said that he is with the affected families in this hour of disaster. Instructions have been given to the officials to give ex-gratia grant of Rs. 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased. All people should be fully cautious during bad weather. During bad weather, follow the suggestions issued from time to time by the Disaster Management Department to protect themselves from lightning. Stay indoors during bad weather and stay safe.

It is noteworthy that nine people had died in the state on July 6. The condition of three women in Aurangabad is still critical. They are being treated at Sadar Hospital. The first incident is from Dihuri village of Obra police station area, where Sunil Chandravanshi’s 35-year-old wife Pramila Devi died. 32-year-old Gudiya Devi and 40-year-old Vimala Devi were injured. The second incident is also from Kuraipur village of Obra police station area, where 34-year-old Ramdev Yadav alias Pintu Kumar died due to lightning. The third incident is from Khiriawan village of Madanpur police station area, where Upendra Sharma’s wife Nagina Devi was struck by lightning. The fourth incident is from Palakiya village of Madanpur police station area, where Raghunandan Das’s 55-year-old wife Sugiya Devi died due to lightning.
