The Gano Forum has made a 21-point written demand to the interim government. Kamal Hossain, president emeritus of the party, said that there was a good discussion with the chief adviser. We have given him a written offer.

Later General Secretary of Gano Forum Mizanur Rahman spoke to reporters on behalf of Kamal Hossain. He said, we have presented 21 demands on behalf of the public forum. Our proposal was accepted by the Chief Adviser.
The Awami League government has destroyed all democratic institutions of the country through autocratic rule for the past 16 years, he said, alleging that all institutions have been destroyed through partyization. In the exclusive power given to the Prime Minister in the constitution, after coming to power, all the powers of the state are in his hands. We proposed to balance the power. That is why the balance of power between the Prime Minister and the President must be maintained.
The Gano Forum proposed the restoration of the caretaker government, he said, noting that we have seen that in the past elections (10th to 12th) sometimes voting was done at night, sometimes the administration was in power through one-sided elections. It has violated the fundamental rights of people. Therefore, we have asked to amend the constitution and take the initiative to restore the caretaker.
Mizanur Rahman said, our leader Kamal Hossain was always vocal against the smuggling of the country’s resources. But, the government did not take it into account. Therefore, we have said, strict legal action should be taken against those robbers who have committed money laundering, bank robbery. Money should be brought back from abroad.
Bangladesh is now unprotected, he said, pointing out that the police have nothing to say. Until the last 5th, the then government used the police shamelessly, killing people. Thousands of people were injured. We have prepared a list of injured and killed and talked about compensation. I have asked for a quick operation to recover the weapons that were looted from the police station. Ganoforum wants to give the present government the time it needs to reform. Ganoforum will support the government.
Kamal Hussain said about the amendment of the constitution, we have asked to amend it.
Mizanur Rahman said that after discussing with Kamal Hossain about the amendment of the constitution, Gano Forum will submit a proposal to the chief advisor.
