I’m 2.153 i new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday there were 1,534, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 4.275.846 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 23, of which 9 previous ones in Sicily relating to the period March-July 2021 as indicated by the note * (yesterday there were 20), for a total of 127,831 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 4.106.315 e 1.079 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (yesterday 1,287). The positive current – subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 41.700, equal to +1.051 compared to yesterday (+223 the day before).
The swabs and the scenario
I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 210.599, which is 18,056 more than yesterday when it was 192,543. While the rate of positivity 1% (the approximation of 1.02%); yesterday it was 0.8%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.
More infections in 24 hours than yesterday. There were no more than 2,000 cases since 10 June (+2,079 cases on 10/6 and +2,199 cases on 9/6). As usual, the swinging curve approaches the maximum point of its swing in the middle of the week (the peak should be between Thursday and Saturday). The upward trend, as also shown by the comparison with last Wednesday (July 7) – the same day of the week – when +1,010 cases were recorded with a positive rate of 0.6%: in fact today there are more new infections July 7 with a higher percentage.
Globally, infections are increasing. According to the WHO, last week (5-11 July 2021) the new cases marked a + 10% (almost 3 million) compared to the previous week and deaths a + 3% (over 55 thousand confirmed victims).
The Lombardy has the highest number of newly infected (but also has zero deaths): here there are +420 cases, thanks to almost 35,000 swabs – the highest number of regional tests of the day – with a rate of 1.2% which more higher than the national one (here the bulletin). Three regions have more than 200 cases: Sicily (+288 with 2.4% rate), Veneto (+261 with a 0.9% rate), Lazio (+208 with a rate of 0.8%). Above 100 follows: Campania (+188), Sardinia (+135) ed Emilia Romagna (+117). It should be noted that the Aosta Valley communicates zero positives in 24 hours.
There are 23 victims in the bulletin against 20 yesterday. But 9 previous deaths in Sicily are included in the calculation, which occurred in the period March-July *. Ten regions with zero bereavement, to which are added the provinces of Trento and Bolzano, with Valle d’Aosta which has removed one death from the total (yesterday 474 overall deaths and today 473), because it relates to a double case belonging to another region **. The highest number of deaths in Sicily (+10, of which 9 previous *), Tuscany (+4) and Puglia (+3). Below is the detail.
The health system
Hospitalizations in critical and non-critical areas are decreasing. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m -20 (yesterday -21), for a total of 1,108 hospitalized. The beds occupied in intensive care (TI) are -6 – this is the balance between the people who left and those who entered ICU – (yesterday -1), bringing the total of the most seriously ill patients to 151, with 7 new entrances to resuscitation (yesterday 7).
