22,000 Iranian protesters pardoned under amnesty

In Iran, a total of 22,000 participants in anti-government demonstrations were pardoned under an amnesty.

This was stated by the head of the judicial system of the country Golam Hossein Mohseni-Ejei.

According to him, more than 82,600 people were pardoned under the amnesty, of which about 22,000 were participants in anti-government demonstrations. This number includes both those convicted and those released pending sentencing.

The amnesty is dedicated to the 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
