A total of 72,897 electric poles will be procured in three separate lots under the project titled Modernization of Electricity Distribution System and Capacity Enhancement (Khulna Division) of Bangladesh Rural Electricity Board (BAPBIBO). The total cost will be 227 crore 94 lakh 70 thousand 193 taka.

According to sources, the project with a total estimated cost of Tk 3,762,250,000, funded by the Government of Bangladesh, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the organization itself, was approved at the Ecnec meeting on May 4, 2021. The duration of the project is from June 30, 2021 to June 30, 2025.

According to sources, modernization and capacity building of rural electrification network in the areas of 9 Rural Electricity Societies (Bagerhat, Jessore-1, Jessore-2, Jhenaidah, Khulna, Kushtia, Magura, Meherpur and Satkhira) under BAPBIBO, to meet the increasing demand of electricity, uninterrupted and quality The scheme has been taken up to ensure quality power supply.

In the overall procurement plan of the project approved by the Planning Commission, MCEP/BREB KD-G-23 package has provision for procurement of SPC Poles worth Rs. Annual purchase plan is formulated by dividing the package into 3 lots considering availability of goods and capacity of manufacturing organization.

Note that 700 crore rupees have been allocated in the annual development program for the financial year 2024-2025 in favor of this project. The cost of purchase of SPC poles will be met from the said allocation.

And Vikar Concrete Products quotes 79 crore 47 lakh 17 thousand 657 taka.
