I’m 22.865 i new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday they were +20,884, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 2.999.119 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 339 (yesterday they were +347), for a total of 98,974 victims from February 2020. While the people recovered or discharged I’m 2.453.706 overall: 13.488 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (+14,068 yesterday). He positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 446.439, equal to +9.018 compared to yesterday (+6,425 the day before). The increase of positive current today – with the pi sign in front – due to the fact that the healed, added to the deaths, are fewer than in the new cases.
The swabs and the scenario
I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 339.635, or 19,249 less than yesterday when there were 358,884. While the rate of positivity 6,7% (the approximation of 6.73%): it means that out of 100 swabs performed more than 6 were positive; yesterday it was 5.8%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.
More infections in 24 hours than yesterday, compared to fewer swabs, with the case / test ratio growing to 6.7% from 5.8% on Wednesday. Not a good sign. For quantity of daily infections we are at the values of early January (above the 22,000 threshold as on January 1st). The curve rises – it generally reaches its maximum points precisely between Thursday and Friday – and the fear is to have more worrying numbers in the coming weeks. Recall that the peak of over 40,000 positives dated 13 November. The scenario worsens, as evidenced by the independent monitoring of the Gimbe Foundation: in seven days (February 24-March 2) cases mark + 33.2% compared to the week before, hospitalizations + 7% and intensive care + 8.4% . At this rate, hospitals will reach saturation in a very short time, underlines Carlo Palermo, national secretary of the union of hospital doctors (Anaao Assomed). The only downside figure calculated by Gimbe is that of deaths, equal to -10% over the week.
Lombardy records +5,174 new infected and to see over 5,000 daily cases in the region, one has to go back to November 27th. Above 2 thousand cases there are three regions: Campania (2.780), Emilia Romagna (+2.545) e Piedmont (+2.167). They follow: Lazio (+1.702), Veneto (+1.487), Puglia (+1.438) e Tuscany (+1.239). All the others have a two- or three-digit increment.
The health system
The hospitalizations in every ward continue to increase: those in the non-critical area are again over 20 thousand. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m +394 (yesterday +193), for a total of 20,157 hospitalized. I beds occupied in intensive care (ICU) I’m +64 (yesterday +84), bringing the total of more seriously ill a 2.475. The variation in the number of beds occupied, in the critical and non-critical areas, indicates the balance between the patients who left and those who entered in the last 24 hours. In fact, i new entrants to TI I’m +232 (yesterday +222).
I vaccinate
The vaccine doses administered are over 4,8 millions. More than 1.5 million citizens have received the second dose. Here the map updated every evening and here the real-time data of the anti Covid-19 vaccines report on the government website.
