The 23,274 new infections reported on Sunday are below the average of the past seven days (26,633), but are significantly more than the 22,075 of last Sunday. And while the number of hospital patients fell slightly to 2,368 people (minus 44), 197 people were cared for in intensive care units, seven more than the day before.

A total of 478,876 tests were registered in the past 24 hours, of which 377,815 were meaningful PCR tests. Their positive rate was 6.2 percent.

4,571 vaccinations were carried out on Saturday. According to the data from the e-vaccination card, a total of 6,796,902 people received at least one vaccination. 6,243,927 people and thus 69.9 percent of Austrians have a valid vaccination.
