I’m 2.455 i new cases of coronavirus in Italy (2,153 yesterday, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 4.278.319 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 9 (yesterday there were 23), for a total of 127,840 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 4.109.579 e 3.264 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (1,079 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 40.900, equal to -800 compared to yesterday (+1,051 the day before).
The swabs and the scenario
I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 190.922, or 19,677 less than yesterday when there were 210,599. While the rate of positivity 1,3% (the approximation of 1.28%); yesterday it was 1%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.
More infections in 24 hours than yesterday, above the 2,000 threshold for the second consecutive day, with the case-to-test ratio growing to 1.3% from the previous 1%. Today we could be at the weekly peak of the swing curve. The upward trend, as can also be seen from the independent monitoring of the Gimbe Foundation on the weekly data (7-13 July): + 61.4% in new cases compared to the previous week. In terms of new cases, there is a sharp weekly increase – declares Nino Cartabellotta, president of Gimbe – which is also underestimated by a continuously decreasing testing activity, which makes it impossible to trace the contacts adequately. Well the reduction of deaths and hospital stays in the same period of time: -35.8% in victims, -11.3% in ordinary hospitalizations and -16% in intensive care.
Four regions above 300 new infections: Lombardy (+381 cases with a rate of 1.2%, thanks to over 32,000 swabs, the highest number of regional tests of the day), Lazio (+353 cases with 1.4% rate), Sicily (+353 cases, in which there are 20 past positives from the December-January period, see note *, with a rate of 2.9%) and Veneto (+318 cases with 1.1% rate). Follows the Campania (+234 cases with a rate of 1.8%). To have over 100 new infected are then: Tuscany (+173 cases with 1.5% rate), Emilia Romagna (+167 cases with 1% rate) e Sardinia (+112 cases with a rate of 1.99%). Note the Valle d’Aosta which has zero cases for the second consecutive day.
Worrying data are those of UK: the country today communicates 48,553 new cases (compared to 42,302 yesterday) and 63 deaths (compared to 49 yesterday).
The victims
Victims are decreasing: they are 9 against 23 yesterday. This is the second lowest figure of 2021, after the 7 deaths on Sunday 11 July (we know that the number of deaths is often incomplete on Sundays, while Thursdays are not). There are 11 regions with zero bereavement, to which are added the Provinces of Trento and Bolzano. Among these is Lombardy – no deaths for two days – which today has the largest number of infected people (here the bulletin). Below is the detail.
The health system
Hospitalizations in non-critical areas are decreasing and those in resuscitation are slightly increasing. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m -19 (yesterday -20), for a total of 1,089 hospitalized. The beds occupied in intensive care (TI) are +2 – this is the balance between the people who left and those who entered ICU – (yesterday -6), bringing the total of the most seriously ill patients to 153, with 11 entrances to resuscitation (yesterday 7).
I vaccinated
The vaccine doses administered are over 59.6 million. Citizens who have received the second dose are more than 25.4 million (47.21% of the population over 12). Here the map updated every evening and here the real-time data of the anti Covid-19 vaccines report on the government website.
