Maruti Suzuki has set a new record by exporting 25 lakh cars from India to foreign countries.
India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki first started exporting cars to Bangladesh and Nepal in 1986. In 1987, the company exported 500 cars to Hungary as a major figure. At present, it is exporting cars to more than 100 countries including Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
Maruti Suzuki, which opened Nexha showrooms in 2015 to sell its premium cars, sells Baleno, Ignis, Ciaz, XL6 and Grand Vitara models. In terms of sales of premium cars, sales of 20 lakh cars had recently been reached. Nexha aims to surpass Hyundai and Tata’s combined showroom sales by 2023.
In this case, Maruti Suzuki Baleno model car was sent to Latin America from Mundra port in Gujarat as 25 lakh vehicles. Maruti Suzuki India’s CEO and Managing Director, Hisashi Tagooch, said in a statement.
The milestone of exporting 25 lakh cars is a testament to India’s manufacturing prowess. This achievement demonstrates Maruti Suzuki’s firm commitment to the Centre’s Make in India initiative. It also showcases the government’s efforts to promote vehicle exports.
