The Council of Ministers identified 25 newly constructed power lines for national objects and objects of national importance, in the sense of the Law on State Property and the Law on Territorial Planning.
“Electricity System Operator” offers the construction of new 400 and 110 kilovolt power lines. Functionally, they are connected to the new 400/110 kilovolt substations planned for construction, already designated by the government for national objects and objects of national importance.
The construction of the new facilities will create prerequisites for the development of the production of electricity from renewable sources, in particular – from solar and wind energy, and the adaptation of the electricity transmission network to the needs of current and potential users.
The change will also promote the step-by-step decarbonization of the electricity sector and increase the share of renewable energy in the country’s energy mix.
With the new decision of the government, it is possible for the facilities to enjoy a priority status at the national level and to achieve relief in carrying out the procedures in accordance with the Law on State Property, the Law on Territorial Planning, the Law on the Protection of Agricultural Lands, etc.
