Security during the Paralympic Games in Paris, which will be held from August 28 to September 8, will be provided by 25,000 law enforcement officers, French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanen said.

“25 thousand law enforcement officers will ensure the safety of these Paralympic Games. About 10 thousand employees of private security companies will also be involved,” he added.

According to Darmanen, special police forces will be mobilized in Paris and around the capital, including during the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games on August 28.

The police will provide 24-hour security for Israeli athletes during the Paralympic Games, the minister also said.

“Security for certain delegations, including the Israeli one, will be organized in the same way as during the Olympics. All Israeli athletes will be guarded 24 hours a day by the French Ministry of the Interior,” Darmanin said.

According to him, 27 athletes and 2 judges from Israel will participate in the Games, who will be guarded by special units of the French police.
