The Civil Aeronautics Department reported an increase in passenger traffic by air during the first half of 2024 in Colombia, reaching nearly 27 million people.
According to the most recent report from the Aerocivil Analytical Office, in the first six months of the year, 26,859,000 passengers were registered, which represents an increase of 16.8% compared to the same period in 2023..
The breakdown of the data reveals that 10,960,000 of these passengers were international, showing an increase of 24.6% compared to the 8,794,000 international travellers from the previous year. As for domestic passengers, there were 15,899,000, 12% more than the 14,197,000 registered in the first half of 2023.

Furthermore, the report notes that from June 2023 to June 2024, The total number of passengers transported reached 53.34 million.
Freight transport
Aerocivil’s analysis also reveals an increase in the transport of cargo and mailIn the first half of 2024, 465,174 tonnes were transported, representing an increase of 9.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In detail, international freight and mail transport reached 400,712 tons, an increase of 10.8% compared to 2023As for domestic cargo and mail, 64,462 tons were transported, an increase of 0.5%.
In June this year, 2,289 more tons were registered than in June 2023, evidencing a 3.5% growth in the market.
