2nd Morocco-Azerbaijan Joint Commission: signing of 5 agreements and memoranda of understanding

Signed on the occasion of the 2nd joint commission co-chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov, these agreements and MoUs cover the areas of logistics, energy, environment and sustainable development, labor legislation, as well as health and medical sciences.

Thus, a Framework Cooperation Agreement was signed, the objective of which is to establish mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in the field of logistics and to facilitate and rationalize logistics flows through the development of logistics centers, the improvement of commercial logistics chains, the development of cooperation between logistics training institutes, as well as the encouragement of the exchange of expertise and experience in logistics.

The second Agreement aims, for its part, to enable the two parties to exchange information with a view to expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of oil and gas, to explore possibilities for cooperation in the sector of services related to energy resources, to conduct scientific and technical research of common interest in the field of energy, as well as to cooperate in the field of renewable energies and their optimal use.

The two sides also signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at developing bilateral cooperation in the field of environmental protection and the reasonable use of natural resources, through the joint conduct of activities in the areas of adaptation to climate change, green economy, prevention of marine pollution, as well as learning in environmental matters and sustainable development.

Another Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation was also concluded between the Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills of Morocco and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Its aim is to enable the parties to carry out joint activities to ensure the implementation of labour legislation in both countries, ensure safety and health at work, resolve labour disputes, develop labour market policies, improve the performance of employment services, as well as the quality of the workforce and increase qualifications in the labour market.

Another MoU was signed between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Morocco and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan for cooperation in the field of health and medical science.

It aims to develop cooperation in the field of health and medical sciences through the exchange of expertise and sharing of health knowledge, prevention of chronic diseases, raising awareness of diseases, as well as ensuring access to medical care for people with disabilities.
