Dubai: The world’s second tallest building is being built in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The name of this building is Burj Azizi. This building is being built by real estate firm Azizi Developments. The foundation stone of Burj Azizi was laid in January this year, but its exact height was not disclosed at that time. This was done because the developer of this building was waiting for approval from Dubai authorities. To build any tall building in Dubai, it is necessary to get approval from the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).

What will be the height of Burj Azizi

On Wednesday, real estate firm Azizi Developments announced that its skyscraper will be taller than all the surrounding buildings except one. Azizi Developments has said that the height of Burj Azizi will be 725 meters (2,379 feet). The height of Burj Khalifa is 828 meters. Mirwais Azizi, founder and chairman of Azizi Developments, said in a written statement that from the beginning we had two design plans. One of these was approved to be built up to a height of 526 meters, while the other has been approved for a height of 725 meters.

There will also be luxury hotels, shopping malls and apartments

The developer kept its options open for both scenarios when it began groundbreaking earlier this year. But with the building’s more ambitious proposal getting the green light, additional work for foundations and pilings is well underway. The 131-story skyscraper will house apartments, an all-suite “seven-star” luxury hotel, and a seven-floor “vertical” shopping mall.

This building is being constructed near Burj Khalifa

Located on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai’s World Trade Centre district, Burj Azizi will still be about 340 feet shorter than the 2,717-feet-tall Burj Khalifa. However, the distance between the two buildings is less than two miles. Currently, Dubai’s second-tallest building is Marina 101, which stands at 1,394 feet tall. Once it is fully completed, it will also surpass Malaysia’s 2,227-feet-tall Merdeka 118 as the world’s second-tallest building.

This tower will make many records

According to Azizi Developments, the tower is expected to set several records, including the world’s highest hotel lobby (on the 11th floor), the world’s highest nightclub (on the 126th floor) and the world’s highest observation deck (on the 130th floor). The developer also said the building will hold the record for Dubai’s highest restaurant (meaning its 122nd-floor venue will be higher than Burj Khalifa’s 122nd-floor restaurant, Atmosphere) and the city’s highest hotel room, on the tower’s 118th floor.
