2NE1, the representative second-generation girl group celebrating their 15th debut anniversary this year, will be holding a solo concert for the first time in 10 years and 7 months.

According to their management company YG Entertainment on the 25th, 2NE1 will be holding the ‘2024 2NE1 Concert ‘WELCOME BACK’ in Seoul’ at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Seoul on October 5th and 6th.

This is 2NE1’s first solo concert since ‘ALL OR NOTHING in Seoul’ held at the SK Handball Stadium in March 2014.

However, the Olympic Hall, which seats 3,000, seems small to fans. The SK Handball Stadium seats 5,000.

YG stated, “Regardless of domestic or international, it is typical for concert halls to be booked months in advance. We did our best to find venues that could be held this year, but the larger venues were already fully booked,” and “We were also very lucky to be able to rent the Olympic Hall.”

He added, “As many people have been anticipating the Seoul concert since its announcement, fierce ticketing is expected. We are very sorry that we cannot meet more audiences in Korea, but we will repay you with a high-quality performance and come back with better news in the future, so please look forward to it.”

After the Seoul concert, they will perform at the World Hall in Kobe, Japan in late November and at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo in early December. The Japan concert was confirmed first, but YG said that they actively reflected the members’ opinions of wanting to start the tour in Korea.

Debuted in 2009 by YG Entertainment, 2NE1 is a group with strong personalities that rose to the ranks of top groups with hit songs such as “I Am the Best” and “I Don’t Care.” They have gone on two world tours and reached number 61 on Billboard’s main chart, Billboard 200, with their 2014 album “Crush.”
After the ‘2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA)’ held at the Hong Kong AsiaWorld-Expo in December 2015, the group effectively went through the process of disbandment. The following year, in April 2016, Gong Minzy left the team first, and the decision to disband was made in November of the same year. They released their last song, ‘Goodbye (GOOD BYE)’ in January 2017.

Then, in April 2022, they made a surprise full group performance at the ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2022’, the largest music festival in the United States. It was the first time in 6 years and 4 months that all four team members performed a full group stage.

CL, who was invited as a guest by the US-based Asian label ’88 Rising’, invited Park Bom, Sandara Park, and Gong Minzy to her stage, which made it happen. After 1 year and 6 months, they will be performing on stage with the full group again.

Since then, the four members have continued to communicate, and this year, after discussing 2NE1 with producer Yang, an official reunion was realized. Currently, there are no singers affiliated with YG. Nevertheless, this concert will be collaborated by Yang Hyun-suk, the general producer of YG who discovered 2NE1.

General ticket sales for this Seoul concert will be available on Interpark Ticket starting at 8 PM on August 5th. There will be no separate advance ticket sales.
