The last participants in the maxi rave in a military domain in Brustem, near Sint-Truiden in the Belgian province of Limburg, have left one by one, says RTL. It is about 1500 people. “The police at the scene continue to insist that those present leave the site quickly and calmly,” said Michel Carlier of the provincial security cell. “[Gli agenti] They stay there to patrol the area.”

The party started at 11pm on Friday evening and the organizers quickly built stages and musical installations in eleven hangars where fighter planes used to be, says the Dutch portal. There were initially 5,000 to 6,000 partygoers in attendance, but according to the governor of Limburg, Jos Lantmeeters, that number has gradually increased to around 10,000.

The police chose not to intervene at the party because such a large number of people were involved, many of them under the influence of drugs, that clearing the area could have led to potentially dangerous situations for the safety of those present.

The emergency services, according to the news, should have carried out various interventions: the health workers, in fact, were busy with many participants who allegedly suffered illness.
