3 days before Yelena’s murder: the accused buys a knife and gas

by time news

In a new document published this evening (Thursday), Jason Odeh is seen three days before the murder of 27-year-old Yelena Gerenberg filling two bottles with fuel with which he planned to burn her body. Another document shows Odeh, 30 years old from Bat Yam, purchasing the knife with which he stabbed Yelena to death in Rehovot in August.

Investigators from the Central Police Department filed an indictment against Odeh for premeditated murder about two weeks ago. According to the indictment, the background is actually the refusal of Gerenberg, a resident of Rishon Lezion, to turn their relationship into a romantic one. The prosecution asked to extend his detention until the end of the proceedings.

The indictment states that Jason and Elena were friends and used to spend time together. During the friendship period, which lasted about four years, Jason asked Milena several times to make their relationship romantic, but she refused. At the end of August this year, Jason decided to kill her and burn her body, so he equipped himself with a knife and gasoline bottles. After that, he drove to an open area in Rehovot, where he put it on the ground and poured gasoline on it, but did not set it on fire, but drove back to his house. During the trip, he dropped his and her cell phone.
