3 Israelis killed in shooting near border crossing with Jordan

Israeli media reported that “3 Israelis were killed in a shooting attack at the Allenby Crossing (Karameh Crossing) between Jordan and Palestine.”

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that “a person opened fire at Israeli forces near the Allenby crossing on the border with Jordan, wounding two people before he was neutralized.”

The Israeli police said in a statement that “there were several injuries at the scene,” noting that “the perpetrator of the attack was neutralized.”

“After resuscitation efforts, MDA paramedics and medics in cooperation with the IDF medical force determined the death of three men, about 50 years old, with gunshot wounds to their bodies,” a Magen David Adom spokesperson said of the attack near the Allenby border crossing.

Channel 14 Israel reported that “the perpetrator of the shooting operation on a road near the Allenby Bridge was neutralized.”

Maariv newspaper pointed out that those killed in the “Karameh Crossing operation were security personnel affiliated with the Israeli Crossings Authority,” and noted that “the killing of the perpetrator of the operation and the closure of the crossing in both directions have been confirmed.”

In the same context, the Jordanian Ministry of Interior announced today, Sunday, that “official authorities have begun investigating the shooting incident that took place on the other side of the King Hussein Bridge, between the West Bank and Jordan.”
