Three people died in an accident on Magura-Jesore road in Shatkhali area of ​​Shalikha upazila of Magura.

On Friday (March 29) around 10:30 PM, a bus-Mahendra collision took place at Shatkhali Hazambari intersection of Magura-Jesore road in Sripur upazila.

At that time, the three-wheeler Mahendra hit the passenger bus from behind, killing three Mahendra passengers. Four people injured in this incident are undergoing treatment.

Mamunur Rashid, Medical Officer of Emergency Department of Magura 250 Bed Hospital confirmed this information.

Among the dead are two women and one man. The deceased are Nirupa Rani De (40), wife of Nityanand De of Narkelbaria village of Bagharpara Upazila of Jessore, Pushpa Rani De (50), wife of Narayan Chandra De of the same area and Biswanath Kundu of Langalbadh area of ​​Sreepur Upazila of Magura.

Citing local and eyewitnesses, SI Imran of Shalikha police station said that nine men and women of the same village were returning home after the Nama Yajna ceremony from Giridhari Ashram. On reaching the Shatkhali area of ​​Shalikha Upazila on the Magura-Jesore highway, the Mahendra lost control and hit a pile of mud on the side of the road and overturned. At that time, a Dhaka-bound passenger bus hit Mahendra from behind.

Seven passengers of Mahendra were seriously injured in this incident. Local people took them to the hospital. After being taken to the hospital, the doctor on duty declared the three dead.
