3 officers retired, 7 DIGs and 5 police commissioners transferred

Additional Inspector General of Police. Atiqul Islam, Deputy Inspector General of Headquarters. Anwar Hossain and Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). Asaduzzaman has been sent to retirement.

On Wednesday (August 21), a separate notification issued by the Police Division-1 of the Ministry of Home Affairs informed about the retirement of these three officers.

According to the notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Atiqul Islam, Anwar Hossain and Asaduzzaman have been retired from government service in the public interest as per the provisions of Section 45 of the Public Service Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018).

In a separate notification, Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of seven ranges of police and five metropolitan police commissioners have been transferred.

According to the order of the President, the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Public Security. Mahabur Rahman Sheikh signed the declaration.

It is said in the notification, DIG Syed Nurul Islam of Dhaka range has been transferred to police academy in Sarada of Rajshahi, DIG of Chittagong range Nur Alam Mina has been transferred to police academy in Sarda of Rajshahi, DIG of Sylhet range Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman has been transferred to railway police, DIG of Rajshahi range Md. Anisur Rahman in Naval Police, Khulna Range DIG Moinul Haque in Sarda Police Academy in Rajshahi, Barisal Range DIG Md. Ilyach Sharif in anti-terrorism unit in Dhaka and DIG of Mymensingh range. Shah Abid Hossain has been attached to Tourist Police.

Besides, Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner (DIG) Md. Saiful Islam in Sarada Police Academy of Rajshahi, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner (DIG) Biplab Vijay Talukdar in T&IM, Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner (DIG) Md. Zakir Hossain Khan Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner (DIG). Mahbub Alam has been attached to Railway Police and Barisal Metropolitan Police Commissioner (DIG) Jihadul Kabir to Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).
