Communication Committee Presents 3 Proposals for Supreme Council of State Elections
The Communication Committee responsible for the recent elections for the Supreme Council of State announced that it has finalized three proposals to be presented to both political parties.
The proposals include:
Holding a third round of voting between candidates Muhammad Takala and Khalid Al-Mishri for the presidency of the council.
Filing a legal dispute to resolve the controversy surrounding a disputed paper.
* Completing the elections for the positions of first deputy, second deputy, and rapporteur.
The committee explained that Al-Mishri rejected the third round proposal, stating that it requires the approval of the Legal Committee, the Ministry of Justice, or the Supreme Court. He did agree, however, to complete the election for the presidency office, including the first and second deputies and rapporteur.
Candidate Takala, on the other hand, proposed referring the disputed paper dispute solely to the Supreme Court and agreed to chair the session to elect the presidency office.
The committee recommended completing the election of the Presidency Office as soon as possible, with the First Deputy taking charge of the session. They also recommended referring the disputed paper case to the judiciary and preventing any elected officials from exercising their duties related to the council until the dispute is resolved.
